Itinerary
- At your hotel or residence in Kigali after your breakfast, Your professional safari guide will meet you for a briefing on your upcoming adventure through Rwanda and Uganda.
Your first stop is the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a powerful and moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, offering deep insight into the country’s history and resilience.
Following your visit, embark on a scenic drive across the Rwanda–Uganda border toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey (approx 4–5 hours) includes a lunch stop en route—either before or after border crossing, depending on timing.
Arrive in the late afternoon at your lodge nestled in the forested highlands of the Rushaga sector. Check in and enjoy time to unwind and take in the serene surroundings. Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp or similar.

- After an early breakfast (served at 5:00 AM), transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. Today is the highlight of your trip: the Gorilla Habituation Experience.
Accompanied by a team of rangers, researchers, and trackers, you will trek deep into the forest in search of one of the semi-habituated gorilla families. Unlike standard gorilla trekking—which allows one hour of viewing—this exclusive experience grants up to four hours in the presence of the gorillas, witnessing and participating in their gradual acclimatization to human presence.
This immersive, once-in-a-lifetime activity is only available in Uganda and offers a rare opportunity to learn about gorilla behavior, conservation efforts, and the work of the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
After the trek, return to the lodge to rest and reflect on the extraordinary encounter. Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp or similar.

- Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out of your lodge. Begin the return journey to Kigali, retracing your scenic route through the lush hills of southwestern Uganda and across the border into Rwanda.
Upon arrival in Kigali, your driver-guide will drop you off at your preferred location—either your hotel or Kigali International Airport in time for your outbound flight. End.
